Ash’s debut album (2000) presents these examinations in a polished college-radio feel, just shy of well-groomed pop/rock male solo records of the same era.
Ash's sophomore album, "two Rooms", (2024) is intricately produced to hearken late 80's Europop (a-ha, Peter Gabriel, Cutting Crew, Kate Bush, Tears for Fears) and is purposefully split between two "rooms": songs in a room of light, love, and happy – while the second half of the album exists in a darker room, full of self-examination and appeals to God for help, healing, and freedom.
Ash's upcoming release (FALL 2026), "Songs from a Songwriter" (SFAS), is an unapologetic tour de force of songwriting, moving from a sparse acoustic guitar and intimate vocal opener through varying degrees of restraint in producing some profoundly confessional songs on towards a California-coast feel cover of Billy Joel’s Summer, Highland Falls and ends with a gut-wrenching, seven-minutes-and-four-seconds masterpiece that likely fits better on a dramatic theatrical musical stage than it does on a singer/songwriter album - and yet it's there, demanding you grapple with its topic.
Ash is a 1994 Berklee College of Music alumnus, a Magna Cum Laude, graduate, having attended, surprisingly, on a Trumpet Performance Scholarship, having been prodigious on the instrument in his youth.
Ash studied with vocal coach luminary Dr. Scott Martin (PhD, Julliard; Michael Jackson, Nancy Wilson of HEART, George Michael).
As an unsigned Artist, Grammy-winner Phil Nicolo chose to mix Ash's debut album, and, shortly after its release, Ash was invited to open for Dove Award-winner and Grammy-nominee Nicole Nordeman.
